The DU Idiosingcrasies were founded in late 2005. With just over a year of experience singing with each other, the Idiosingcrasies started gigging with showcase concerts, as well as performances for several major events on campus. By 2006, the group began broadening its horizons and showing off around Denver, holding exclusive auditions, and proving that there is no such thing as a song that can’t be performed a cappella. By the start of the ’07-’08 school year, the group had some very critical decisions to make. No DU a cappella group had ever made it past the 3-year mark, and the Idios were determined to break the trend. So came the most selective and intense auditions yet. By the end of 2007, the group was performing on Channel 9 News, and getting into the studio to begin recording tracks for their first album. As a result, the Idios became the first group on campus to make it to a second generation. The Idios now have two full CDs produced and consistently sing gigs and shows throughout the Denver Metro Area.
